Venturi 600 SLM Le Mans 1995 #44 Igol by Renaissance
Despite a restricted budget, the Venturi factory built this very special GT1 challenger to take on the McLarens at Le Mans and early in the race things looked promising. The car certainly had the pace but an error in reconnecting the gear linkage after an unscheduled pit stop meant a 3 1/2 hour visit to the pit garage for an engine top end rebuild. It was still running at the end and had put in some very respectable lap times in the hands of Gounon and Belmondo but that time couldn’t be regained and they were unclassified at the finish. There was very little sponsorship on the car so decoration of the well cast resin body will be a simple single colour metallic grey paint finish and a few decals applied. There’s a fair amount of cockpit detail to get stuck into, plenty of photo-etch and the option of an open door should you wish.

About Renaissance
Excellent kits and conversion sets (for plastic) using resin bodies, white metal parts, lots of very fine photo-etching and good decals. Some castings need cleaning. Excellent instructions. Classic subjects (REN43 refs) are relatively simple builds, while the Integral series (RENI) of more modern subjects are a little more complex. Made in France
