Lotus 19 1960 Green by Spark
Another Lotus and this time factory
fresh in appearance, which it should
be as it’s a model of the original launch
version of the Lotus 19, the marques
first mid-engined sports racing car. As
with the Cooper Monaco the car that it
was designed to beat, it was based on a
Formula 1 chassis (Lotus 18), modified
to accommodate two seats and clothed in an aerodynamic body. Only a dozen
cars were built but they enjoyed many successes both as factory and privateer
cars. The model is finished to a high standard with excellent paint and plenty of
fine detailing including an etched bulkhead frame in the cockpit.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
