Lotus Elan S1 Street 1961 Yellow by Spark
The original Lotus Elan is generally considered to be the first real commercial success for Lotus and here we see it in original roadster form. It's a pretty car and Spark have done a good job of capturing the clean and simple shape. The colour chosen is spot on for period and we see plenty of nice fine details including the little grab handles to slide the windows up and down, a full winding mechanism being too heavy to comply with Colin Chapman's ethos that weight is evil. It is the subtle details like this that make Spark models so good these days.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
