Abarth 2000 Sport Spider 1969 by Spark
Abarth’s open prototypes were very successful in short races and on the hillclimb courses in the late 1960s and here we see a 2-litre 4-cylinder variant as it would have been delivered to the customer. The shape of the car is excellent and the paint finish smoothly applied but once again with a Spark Abarth we see very exaggerated panel lines picked out in black. It would appear that as they have started down this road on these subjects they’ve decided to stick with this finish for the sake of consistency, which is logical.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
