Abarth 850S Le Mans 1961 #60 by Spark
In 1961, Denny Hulme was just starting his European career having won the 1960 ‘Driver to Europe’ award from the New Zealand Grand Prix Association and at Le Mans he was partnered with the next winner of this award, Angus Hyslop in a works Abarth as part of a four car team. The young men from the other side of the planet were the only finishers of the four and won their class, finishing fourteenth overall. As with many of their other Abarths, Spark have chosen to pick out the panel lines in black on this model, which looks a little heavy handed, but otherwise it is well finished and the shape looks good.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
