Porsche 964 Carrera 4 World Tour 1994 Liautaud by Spark
Porsche 964 Carrera 4 World Tour
We’ve not managed to find any background info on the round the world tour embarked on by Jean-Marc Liautaud, so we’re guessing it was private venture. According to the decoration on the car, the challenge was to travel across land from Paris to Vladivostok in the far south east of Russia, across to Japan and then by boat to Anchorage before travelling across Canada and the US and crossing the Atlantic back to Europe. Preparation included raising the suspension on the Carrera 4 to Dakar style ride height and the small safety details that are visible on the car are neatly done. The basic shape looks good, the paint is excellent and decals clearly printed.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
