Courage Oreca LC70 Le Mans 2008 #5 Matmut by Spark
When press photos of this car first
appeared early in 2008 we were looking
forward to seeing it in model form and
Spark have done a great job. It’s a
vividly decorated machine, with a livery
inspired by the work of Dutch artist Piet
Mondrian. We were wondering how this
multi-coloured paint scheme would be
tackled and the good news is that the four primary shades appear to have been
masked and painted with fine black decals covering the lines. It’s all very neatly
done and the model checks out well with race photos of the car which finished
8th overall and second of the petrol runners.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
