Gillet Vertigo Accelerate record 2002 by Spark
Tony Gillet built his first eponymous sports car in 2001 and the following year the second chassis, powered by a modified Cosworth four cylinder engine, broke Gillet’s own 0-100km/h Guinness world record that he had set two years previously in a Donkervoort. The Vertigo isn’t what we would describe as a pretty car and the early car as depicted here with hammerhead nose and separate headlights looks like something from an alien invasion movie, which is all good! The model is smartly finished in dark metallic grey with a vivid orange interior and the sponsorship decals for the record attempt are carefully placed.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
