Le Mans 2023 Centenary Winner's Trophy 1:18 by Spark
The trophy that was presented to the winners of
the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans is a one-off design in honour of the race’s
100th anniversary. Designed by Joaquin Jimenez, engraver and artistic
director at the Paris Mint. "There’s so much to be inspired by, starting
with the contrast between day and night. I depicted the track as a ribbon
weaving its way to the finish line. There is also a nod to the Olympic flame
and the idea of incandescence,” explained Jimenez.
We explored several techniques in the development of this trophy to bring
it to life. The body is 3D printed to capature the weaving effect of the
ribbon, then carefully hand-painted to add the finishing details.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
