Renault Alpine A442B 1st Le Mans 1978 Pironi/Jaussaud 1:18 by Spark
The Le Mans 24 Hours has been very much in the news in this, its centenary year, so it's appropriate that Spark's latest release is of a significant car from the race's history: the outright winner of the 1978 event, and the last of Renault's entries in sports car racing before its switch to focus on Formula 1.Unlike its sister A442A and A443 entries, the A442B raced with a bubble canopy. That feature has been beautifully replicated here by Spark (the glass looks pretty much scale thickness) but those of you with dusty houses, beware - the aperture in the top, while allowing a view of the detailed cabin, will make it a nightmare to clean! Fortunately the model is supplied in an acrylic display case. With excellent finish and a striking livery, this is atop-notch product that won t disappoint.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
