Talbot Lago T150C SS Teardrop Coupe Figoni & Falaschi 1937 by Spark

This Talbot Lago coupe, chassis 90107, was delivered new to Stella de Kapurthala, a British born dancer who had become a wife of the Maharaja of Kapurthala after she had caught his eye in the Folies Bergeres. The car had a number of unique features, most noticeable being the all enclosed front wheels with the arches widened to allow steering movement and a sliding sunroof. The car and its owner were regulars at various concourse events in France in the 1930s and the car would often be repainted to match the owner’s outfit for the events! The model depicts the car in its original blue and grey livery as seen in Figoni’s publicity photos and for the most part captures the car well. The fine etched grilles over the headlights should be a little more elongated but they are very neatly fitted and etched radiator grille has been carefully shaped. All of the other trim details fit well on our sample and the two tone paint finish is excellent. Overall, a well priced and attractive model of a beautiful subject.

About Spark

The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
