Delahaye 145 Le Mans 1938 #2 Ecurie Bleue by Spark
Delahaye 145 Le Mans 1938 #2
Alternative version SPK2725 #1
The competition Delahaye 145 appeared both in Grand Prix races with open wheels and in sportscar races such as Le Mans with mudguards fitted. Two cars were entered at Le Mans, leading the opening lap and battling for the lead during the first hour, but both cars retired early with mechanical issues. Spark’s model captures the difficult shape of the car pretty well and the rivet detailing cast into the body surfaces is excellent. The very fine wire wheels on our sample aren’t quite centred correctly but through them we see realistic brake drums and there is plenty of other very delicate detailing on the model, right down to headlamp cover bags for daylight running.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
