Designed by Gordon Murray and built by Chris Craft, the Light Car Company’s rocket was the ultimate lightweight, no frills driving experience with a tuned 1100c.c. Yamaha motorcycle engine propelling its 380 kilos and single occupant very briskly indeed. It’s a pretty little thing, the design reminiscent of a late 1950s Cooper GP car and the model captures the shape well. The mudguards on the model appear to mimic a tyre tread pattern, which is an interesting touch and which rings a bell from the time the car was new but in all photos we’ve found they look to be simple carbon.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
