HPD ARX 03a Le Mans 2012 #21 Strakka by Spark

Having enjoyed success in LMP2, Nick Leventis and his Strakka Racing team stepped up to LMP1 in 2012, hoping to challenge at the front of the petrol engined prototype group. Technical problems at the start meant that the rest of the field had been running for half an hour before they could join in, eventually finishing thirtieth and eighth in class. It was a smartly decorated car and this is replicated well on the model, as are the various small aerodynamic details with plenty of etch for trim tabs and turning vanes.
SPK3710 Oreca 03 Le Mans 2012 #23 Signatech £54.95
For the second year running one of Signatech’s Nissan powered prototypes included a driver who’s experience had originally come from video gaming, though Jerome Tresson had clearly made the transition well and was building a decent reputation as a proper driver, winning the GT4 series in 2011 and running a full prototype season in 2012. Both Signatech cars were finished in satin black and the finish on the model is excellent. Decal print and placement looks good and the model matches race photos well.

About Spark

The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
