Brabham BT42/3 Belgium 1974 Pilette by Spark
Brabham BT42/3 Belgium 1974 #34 Pilette
Alternative version SPK4785 Watson & SPK5257 Wietzes
Brabham had no fewer than seven cars on the grid of the Belgian GP, most of them wearing sponsorship from Hitachi in a one-off deal for the race. One of the older BT42s was for local driver Teddy Pilette who was making his debut and managed to get the car to the finish despite major tyre problems. Some of the suspension detailing is a little heavier than we are used to seeing on Spark’s F1s but the rest of the model looks very good with correct bodywork configuration and accurately placed decals. Many photos of the car are from practice but the race correct additional Gurney flap on the front is present.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
