Jaguar D-Type 1st Le Mans 1956 #4 Sanderson/Flockhart by Spark
We were very impressed by Spark’s rendition of the 1955 Le Mans winning Jaguar D Type but are sadly rather less so this time. In terms of shape, panel engraving and decal placement everything is excellent, the vacform is neatly trimmed and includes the clear tonneau cover that the car ran with and the interior has a slightly lived in look. However the main paint finish is a satin finish which looks totally at odds and very dull. Had there been a gloss clear coat this would bring the colour out nicely and we’d be a lot happier.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
