Porsche 956 1st Le Mans 1985 #7 Ludwig/Barilla/Winter by Spark
But for subtle changes to the minor sponsorship, Joest’s consecutive Le Mans winners look extremely similar and for good reason, it was the same car (956.117) that took the chequered flag on each occasion. This was only the second time in Le Mans history that this had happened, the previous being Ford’s 1968 & ‘69 wins in the GT40 (1075). Klaus Ludwig was the lead driver both times, joined by Pescarolo in 1984 and Barilla & ‘Winter’ in ‘85. The latter’s attempts to hide his racing from the family using a pseudonym were rather defeated when his mother saw him on the front page of the newspaper the following day! Both models are well finished with excellent black and yellow paint finishes being divided by white decal stripes and the decals also capture the livery changes between the pair.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
