McLaren’s F1GTR had a superb debut at Le Mans, the cars filling four of the first five places. The winning car is modelled here in night mode, with additional lamps on the front bonnet panel and these details and the decal placement look very good. The car was a subtle two-tone metallic grey and this is something that seems to be a problem for many model manufacturers, the contrast between the two shades being very marked. The upper dark colour looks very good, but the lower panels are far too bright.

The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars.
