MINI WRC France 2012 #69 Dumas by Spark
As a Le Mans winner, we tend to think of Romain Dumas as a sportscar racer but he has been competing in the French Rally Championship for a number of years (in a Porsche admittedly) and in 2012 he made his WRC debut in a Mini sponsored by Spark, who also backed his Pike’s Peak attempt. A roll on day two of Rally France rather dented his attack but he kept going and was finally classified sixteenth. The general finish on the model is pretty good, with decent main paint finishes and carefully applied decals, though one or two small bits of detail painting could be neater on our sample.

About Spark
The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
