Mercedes C-Coupe DTM 2012 #20 Wickens by Spark

Alternative versions SPKSG054 Vietoris SPKSG055 Coulthard & SPKSG057 Merhi
Although German-based, the DTM is a truly international series now and the cars here only feature one German driver, Ralf Schumacher. His is perhaps the most challenging of the liveries to replicate with the whole car having a carbon weave over it and this brightened with chrome highlights. Spark has done this well with no creases that we can see in the carbon decals. The sister AMG machine was driven by Jamie Green and had an all over chrome finish and again that is superbly applied. Most successful of the Mercedes drivers in 2012 was Gary Paffet who missed out on the title by just five points to BMW’s Bruno Spengler, the title being decided in the final race. This car has an interesting finish in that it is a multi-texture black base scheme, neatly done as usual. The final two cars of Canadian newcomer Robert Wickens and series regular Suzie Wolff have white lower panels with vibrant main body colours, red for Wickens’s Stern magazine sponsorship and pink for Wolff’s TV Spielfilm entry. As well as the excellent standard of finish, there’s plenty of fine detailing to enjoy too with lots of etch for the small aerodynamic devices.

About Spark

The range which changed the 1:43 model market and for which we coined the term 'resincast'. Resin rather than traditional diecast bodies mean that relatively short production runs can be made and what might be marginal subjects become viable. Quality is very consistent with plenty of fine etch used where necessary. A huge range is the result, covering all aspects of (mostly postwar) motorsport and a wide variety of road cars. We typically see around 30 new subjects released per month and pre-orders are strongly recommended. Made in China & Madagascar.
