The Toleman Tg185 is a Formula 1 single-seater, built by the British Toleman team to compete in the 1985 Formula 1 World Championship. Designed by Rory Byrne, it was equipped with a Hart 415T turbocharged four-cylinder in-line engine producing around 800 hp. The Tg185 made its debut at the Monaco Grand Prix. Initially, only one car was entered for Italian driver Teo Fabi, who had already driven for the team in 1982. Starting with the Austrian Grand Prix, a second car was entered for another Italian driver, Piercarlo Ghinzani, who had joined the team from Osella. Fabi gave Toleman its first and only pole position at the German Grand Prix, held at the new Nürburgring. The livery of this Tg185 was very eye-catching. To better promote the Benetton brand, the team's graphic designers covered the bodywork with multiple flags from various countries around the world. Even today, we still remember this single-seater as the “Toleman with the flags”. The Tg185 was the last Toleman car, as the team was bought by Benetton and renamed Benetton Formula ahead of the 1986 season.
