Ferrari 312 UK 1969 #11 Amon by SilverLine
The
1969 season was the worst for the Ferrari 312, as only seven points were scored
for the entire season, which represents a negative record for Ferrari. After
Jacky Ickx passed to Brabham, the fate of the team was entrusted to Chris Amon
who, in turn, left the team in the middle of the season because he was fed up
with the lack of competitiveness of his Ferrari and was replaced by Pedro
Rodriguez. At the
British Grand Prix at Silverstone, to improve performance, Ferrari deployed,
for the Amon only, an unprecedented rear radiator fairing with aerodynamic shape
equipped with two side wings. It was an excellent exercise in
style as the competitiveness of the car did not change. In Maranello, however,
the development of the car had already stopped to focus better on the next car,
the marvelous 312 B.
