Williams FW16 6th San Marino 1994 #0/2 Senna/Hill by SilverLine
In 1994 Ayrton Senna joined Williams after winning 3 world titles
at the wheel of McLaren. The Brazilian driver was convinced he would continue
his streak as Williams was the car to beat in 1993. Unfortunately, the change
in regulations banning electronic aids on single-seaters made Williams a much
less competitive car. With two consecutive retirements behind him, Senna
arrived at Imola with zero points and the San Marino Grand Prix became crucial.
Everyone knows what happened that weekend. Senna loses his life in an incident
as absurd as it is in the media as his live death caused immense clamor. 29 years after his death, we decided
to build the model of the FW16 with which Ayrton Senna raced his last Grand
Prix to honor the memory of this unfortunate champion.
