Yamaha YZR M1 Moto Champ08 Conversion Set 1:12 by Top Studio
Tamiya and the other plastic kit
manufacturers seem to be a little slow
when it comes to making decisions
on the latest generation of Moto GP
machines but luckily the aftermarket
suppliers are at hand, albeit at a
price. This transkit is extremely
comprehensive with only parts of the
engine and frame, along with the tyres
seemingly being needed from the donor kit. There are dozens of resin parts
ranging from fairings and fuel tank down to the tiniest electrical connectors. There
are packs of wire, fuel lines, loads of tiny exhaust springs, machined exhaust tips,
etched details and much more. The decals are clearly printed and offer Valentino
Rossi’s World Championship winning mount from the Catalunya GP, where he
finished second on a machine decorated with a special livery in the Italian national
football colours. Not for the beginner by any means, but the experienced builder
will be rewarded with a very well detailed machine.
