Ferrari 250GT Drogo Le Mans/Spa/Nurburgring 1963/1964 by Tron
Ferrari 250GT Drogo Angola/Spa/Nurburgring/LM Practice 1962/63/64
Hand built available BEE145
Chassis 2053GT was originally used as the first GTO prototype before the very rough test bodywork was removed and a standard 250SWB Berlinetta fitted. It was sold in that form to Jacques Swaters and soon afterwards re-bodied again, after a crash at the Nurburgring, in the form we see here. The kit parts are very simple with a well-cast resin body, resin seats and vacforms for the windows, headlight covers and bonnet bulge. Most of the very fine etch is for the kit form wire wheels but does also include the steering wheel and some badging. The decal in the kit offers several options and some of those are also available as well finished hand builts. The car from the April Le Mans test weekend that we have as a sample has neatly fitted glazing and well placed decals, although the numbers are very slightly over-sized.
