Alpine A108 6th TDC 1961 #78 Greder by AxelR

We usually think of General Motors products when hearing the name Henry Greder but in his earlier career he drove for many other marques including for Alpine in 1961 and 1962. The 1961 Tour de Corse was a rather strange event which was abandoned after just two cars had completed the course due to very heavy snow fall and so the rest of the results were awarded on countback, Greder lying in sixth position when the red flags came out. The works Alpine was simply finished in white with event plaques and race numbers and this makes for a nice clean looking model. The kit parts are well cast and the body is neatly painted in an off-white. There is a modest amount of photo-etch for the wipers, some small trim and the rear vent panel and the hand built model shows that these parts all fit nicely. A simple model, well made.

About AxelR

Reasonably accurate resin/metal kits that are simple to build and use a small amount of photo-etched detail. Please note that any old Four Small Wheels reviews that refer to painted kits are no longer valid. Painted kits are no longer available. Instructions very basic but usually include multi-view photos for placement of the excellent decals. Range includes many current 'historic' racers. Hand-built models offer excellent value for money. Made in France.
