Ferrari 156 1st Brussels 1962 #10 by Jade Miniatures
There were several non-championship F1 races in 1962 and the European season kicked off in the Brussels suburb of Heysel on April 1st. The race format was an aggregate result from three 22 lap heats and with third place in the first and wins in the next two, Willy Mairresse took overall victory in his factory Ferrari. The same chassis, with 65 degree engine and fully enclosed rear bodywork, was then entered for Lorenzo Bandini at Pau three weeks later and he finished the gruelling 100 lap race in fifth. The instructions with the simple, well cast kit include photos of both drivers in their races as well as the practice car of Mairresse in Brussels when he ran with a different number and all three are options in the kit. The hand built model is well finished and matches up with the photos provided. A bit of an unusual race subject perhaps, but nicely done.

About Jade Miniatures
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
