We’ve already seen this model in hand built form and commented then that the castings were a little too clean as the bodywork of Ron Philips’ Cooper was showing distinct signs of use by the time it raced on the airfield circuit of Fishermans Bend in the Melbourne suburbs. Very little clean up will be needed on the kit parts before assembly and don’t be concerned that the photos of the built model in the instructions aren’t a match the decals supplied. The initial test build had incorrect black backing circles for the numbers but the oval decals in the kit are how it should be.
A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
